Born and raised in Paris, Texas, Ash began his journey in his local community theater…starring in stage productions throughout his childhood. His passion for storytelling on the stage eventually morphed into a passion for film.

At nineteen years old, Ash Christian wrote his first feature film “Fat Girls”. At age twenty, Ash directed, produced and starred in “Fat Girls” alongside Jonathan Caouette (“Tarnation”), and Robyn DeJesus (“Camp”). An official selection of the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival, where “Fat Girls” had its world premiere to major critical acclaim…the film found love in the hearts of independent film lovers across the world.

“Fat Girls” sold to Regent Entertainment at the festival and opened in theaters nationwide fall of 2007 then to cable and DVD through Genius Entertainment.

MTV Networks picked up “Fat Girls” as a pilot for their network at the Tribeca Film Festival and hired Ash to write, direct and executive produce the series for MTV in New York.

At the age of seventeen Ash moved, alone, to Los Angeles to pursue his film career. Since then, he has appeared in shows such as ABC’s “Ugly Betty”, FOX’s “Standoff”, HBO’s “Six Feet Under”, CBS’s “Cold Case”, WB’s “Jack and Bobby”, Lifetime’s “The Divison” and FOX’s “Boston Public”, as well as films such as “Domino”, directed by Tony Scott, and “Man of the House” with Tommy Lee Jones and starred in “The Wake-Up Caller” directed by Hungry Man Film’s Bryan Buckley, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, as well.

Ash as appeared in national commercials such as “Got Chocolate Milk” directed by Noam Murro and spots for Doritos, Hardee’s, Carl’s Jr, Sprint, Wal-Mart, and X-Box.

Ash recently appeared alongside talent such as John Waters, Gus Van Sant, Ang Lee, Heather Matarazzo and John Cameron MItchell in Lesli Klainberg’s documentary “FABULOUS!: The Story of Queer Cinema” which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and is currently airing on IFC.

In a recent profile in Modern Luxury magazine, they described Ash as “the new face of independent cinema”.

In 2009, Ash raised money for the hit Broadway musical “Next to Normal” which garnered 11 Tony nominations and 3 Tony awards including Best Score.

Currently in production is a documentary, “Calamity” - which follows a small town Texas community theater during their production of “Calamity Jane”.

Ash is in pre-production for his next independent comedy, “Mangus!”, the story of a young boy who’s ultimate dream is to play Jesus in his community theater production of “Jesus Christ Spectacular” and will be produced by Anne Clements (Who won the Independent Spirit Award for producing and the Jury and Audience award at the Sundance Film Festival for “Quincenera”).

Ash is currently in development on “Continental” a documentary directed by Sundance alum Malcolm Ingram (Small Town Gay Bar) writing a new screenplay entitled “Petunia”, in which is plans to star/direct and shoot in New York, and completing another comedy entitled “Bart-O-Rama”.
